Logotype design
The city Borgholm, is named after the castle on the brink just above the city. The city was founded as a city in 1816. The original empire style city plan is preserved today along with a lot of houses from that period. The empire style city plan is very unusual in Sweden since not that many cities were founded in the 19th century. In 2016 the city celebrates its 200-year anniversary and I was asked to design a logotype for the event. My idea was to celebrate the unique city plan and incorporate it into the logo. I was inspired by Josef Frank’s classic textilepattern “Manhattan”. I created this logo but unfortunately the client decided to go in a different direction.
